Spiral Jet Mill

The Spiral Jet Mill is classic ultrafine grinding equipment for LFP cathode material processing. Driven by high-pressure airflow, it crushes sintered LFP powder to target fineness with narrow particle size distribution. Low operation cost and stable running make it ideal for small & medium LFP production lines supplying power battery and energy storage cathode materials. Wear-resistant ceramic lining prevents metal contamination; it can connect with precision air classifiers and low-contamination conveying systems to form a complete full dry-process LFP processing line.

How It Works

Technical breakdown of the core processes and technology behind Spiral Jet Mill.

High-pressure compressed air is injected tangentially into the spiral annular crushing chamber through multiple nozzles, forming a high-speed spiral circulating airflow. Sintered LFP powder is sent into the crushing cavity via a feeding screw, and instantly accelerated by spiral high-speed air flow. LFP particles circulate along the spiral track at ultra-high speed, producing intense collision, mutual friction and shear between particles, so LFP soft agglomerates are fully crushed and dispersed.

Fine LFP powder with qualified fineness is carried out of the spiral chamber by the central upward airflow and sent to the turbine classifier for screening; coarse LFP particles with unqualified granularity continue to circulate and grind along the spiral cavity until reaching the required fineness. The whole grinding process relies entirely on collision between LFP particles without grinding media, which effectively avoids metal contamination for lithium battery cathode material production.
